Course Description:

Road Safety Audits - In this presentation we learn how to improve safety on our roadways by applying a proactive approach to reduce collisions and their severity. The methods discussed address the examination of a roadway by an independent, qualified audit team. The Road Safety Audit is a way for an agency to improve safety and communicate to the public how they are working toward crash reduction.

Learning Objectives:

  • How to conduct an RSA and identify a few of the common safety issues found with RSAs.
  • How to reduce injuries and fatalities on our roads

Required Online Capabilities

While we understand each agency will have different equipment and technology access, we strive to make our courses as interactive as possible. Thus, each participant or group in this course is required to have access to a camera (turned on) and microphone.

Online Registration Fee

The registration fee for this online workshop is $20 per person for employees of government agencies and $25 per person for non-government agencies. Registration can be paid online. Please contact cltap@frontrange.edu for questions.

Cancellation Policy

Please be considerate of those on the waiting list, cancel early if necessary. A full refund will be made if you cancel no later than 3 business days prior to the training day; otherwise, you will forfeit the registration fee.

Special Notes

In order to receive credit for this class, attendees must stay until the end when it is dismissed by the instructor and class certificates are awarded.

Instructors

Morrison, Todd

Todd Morrison, P.E. is a road safety advocate as a speaker, workshop instructor, and online trainer. For the past twelve years he has worked for various Contractors, Associations, Local Technical Assistance Programs, and DOT's. He has taught over 500 workshops and trained over 15000 individuals. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet after serving in the Divisions of Construction, Maintenance and Traffic. At the Cabinet, he worked with environmental, work zone, construction and maintenance concerns as an Environmental Coordinator, Maintenance/Traffic Engineer, and as a Branch Manager for Operations. Recently, Todd served for two years as Kentucky’s Safety Circuit Rider helping local agencies identify low-cost improvements to reduce crashes. Todd is an ATSSA certified Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagging Instructor, and Traffic Control Design Specialist.
