Course Description:

Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities - The objective of this course is to discuss and explore with non-supervisory employees the changes in relationships and personal challenges that may occur when one is promoted to supervision. This is a discussion seminar in which participants focus primarily on the differences between subordinate and supervisory roles.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine the role of the supervisor
  • Learn about leadership skills and how to apply them
  • Explore options for handling issues new supervisors encounter
  • Learn the basics of interviewing, performance management, and disciplinary action
  • Assess own level of ability in competencies required of a supervisor and develop a strategy

    Required Online Capabilities

    While we understand each agency will have different equipment and technology access, we strive to make our courses as interactive as possible. Thus, each participant or group in this course is required to have access to a camera (turned on) and microphone.

    Online Registration Fee

    The registration fee for this online workshop is $20 per person for employees of government agencies and $25 per person for non-government agencies. Registration can be paid online. Please contact cltap@frontrange.edu for questions.

    Cancellation Policy

    Please be considerate of those on the waiting list, cancel early if necessary. A full refund will be made if you cancel no later than 3 business days prior to the training day; otherwise, you will forfeit the registration fee.

    Special Notes

    In order to receive credit for this class, attendees must stay until the end when it is dismissed by the instructor and class certificates are awarded.

    Instructors

    Cusano, Joseph

    JOE CUSANO is a current high school business and computer science teacher at Prairie View High School. He is also an adjunct business professor with FRCC. Joe's educational background includes an Associate in human services, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Mr. Cusano also holds certs and endorsements in Coding, IT, Marketing and Business Technology. His favorite course work to teach is leadership and communication. Those two elements, when executed successfully, snowball into success on any level of business.

    Joe moved out of corporate about seven years into education after spending most of his career in leadership and consulting arenas of business. He has always had a passion for training and teaching.

    Mr. Cusano grew up on the east coast in upstate NY and moved to CO about 18 years ago. He raised his two beautiful daughters here. Joe moved back east for a short stint about eight years ago and am now back home in CO. His fiancé and he enjoy mountain drives and hiking. The more time he spends in the Rockies, the better he feels :) Joe is looking very much forward to serving his future students with LTAP. Let's have some fun!!
